Competition Topic: A Different Story
In conjunction with CArtsCon 2019, we have a schools art competition to engage schoolgoers to think creatively and critically about the theme.
Who Can Enter?
The competition is open to all primary and secondary school students in the Canterbury district in the following Year groups:
- Years 4 to 6
- Years 7 to 9
- Years 10 to 13
What to Submit
A picture that illustrates a different story. The artist can decide what elements can change a common story – is it the plot? The characters? The person who tells the story? The people who listen to/watch the story? Should there always be a happy ending? Should there even be an ending?
Each entry must have a title and a brief description (maximum 150 words). Only one entry per student, please.
Entrants can submit the work as a JPG or GIF or PNG upload using this entry form.
Note: Due to the volume of submissions in previous competitions, we will require ALL submissions to be made online. If your work is chosen, we will ask you to bring it in for exhibition purposes.
Your entry must be two-dimensional. You may use any materials, techniques or processes (e.g. drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, photography, collage, montage, CAD). Maximum size is A2.
